Stallions Football Is Back!

Welcome Coach Lillard, our head coach for the Stallions 2012 season!

Spring training and tryouts will be held from May 2^nd to May 16^th from 4 to 6 pm each day after school.

Summer School, formally known as Summer Accelerated Learning Experience 2012, will be held June 4th-June 25th at Ridgeview Middle School. Parents may register their students at SSCMS April 16th – May 18^th. Late registration is May 21st and an additional $25 registration fee will be applied.

Only money orders and cashier checks will be accepted and should be made out to Sandy Springs Charter MS; personal checks will not be accepted. Registration is  $155/course (Regular/Reduced Lunch) and $125/course (Free Lunch) *

CHANGE OF DATE FOR OPEN HOUSE

Due to the FCS Board recognition of the SSCMS Technology Study Association on April 17, the Prospective Parent tour and Open House originally scheduled for April 17 has been changed to April 16 at 6:30 pm.  We apologize for any inconvenience.  Hope to see you there!

NUMBER FIVE IN STATE

SSCMS Stallion, Trevor Langill, qualified for the National Geographic State Geography Bee in March.  Trevor competed against 100 students from all across the state of Georgia.  He made it to the second round of 20 by making a perfect score on a written test.  In the second round, he scored fifth in the state!  Way to go Trevor!

STATE CHAMPS

Our Sandy Springs Charter Middle School Technology Student Association, led by Mr. Wayne Thompson and Mr. Brad Branch, will be recognized at the Fulton County School Board Meeting on April 17 at 6:00 pm for winning a First Place medal in the state TSA competition in March.  Go Stallions!!!

Sandy Springs Charter Middle School is now on PRIDE PLACE!  At the October 4 meeting of the Sandy Springs City Council, the request to change the name of our street from Colonel Drive to Pride Place was approved!  The resolution, signed by the mayor, is here.

Students chose the new name last year in a “street naming contest” sponsored by our Governance Board and Student Council.  The students who chose the winning name are:  Michael Joel Maldonado, Kayla Pinola, Isaiah Clowe, Alice Ann Lever, Rachel Miller, Naima Rodriguez, and Joseph Anderson.
